Core Set 2025, Battlepass, & Leaderboard Updates

Hello Champions!
It's been a long time since Elemental Warfare dropped August 1st, 2024. We've had Beasts of Blossom to spice things up, but it's been awhile since a content release. March 11th, 2025 is the release date of Core Set 2025, so lets talk about everything going on with the set.
Core Set 25 is a large set with 294 cards. 42 of each element. 238 main set cards with another 56 crafted cards. New abilities and new heroes are coming too. First lets talk about how the Core Set will affect Standard.
Generations 2 and 3 are moving to Legacy. Legacy will be a supported format in weekly events and occasional bigger events like weekend Opens. Standard will be Generation 4, Elemental Warfare (Gen5), Beasts of Blossom, and Core Set 25. Zorkavah is the only hero to be rotating out as it's in Generation 3, so it'll be be Legacy-only. You can play every card in Legacy, including Fuku.

New Standard will not include the one-mana eggs. Two-mana eggs and the new Nesting mechanic will your source of fast evolutions. Because every one-mana egg except for Generation 4's Fyusha is rotating out, Fyusha will be the only card banned in Standard.
Constructed Core Set 25 will be a recurring event as well, starting with Free Mode, the later owned-cards constructed Core Set 25 events.
Also we've established a Reprint Policy. No Generation 1 cards, no crafted cards from previous generations, and no Angels (Seraph, Lilith, Sin etc.) are reprinted in Core Set 25 and will be the policy moving forward.
Battlepass

Current Battlepass
The next Battlepass is starting March 11th, 2025 and will last until the next set release. It will cost $15 and be longer and more robust than ever, with many packs, shards, and cosmetics to acquire.
This also means the current Battlepass will be ending at March 11th, 2025, so complete it if you haven't already.
Leaderboard Changes
The ELO floor is being removed. No longer can you sit at 1300, 1400 etc. without risk of losing rating.
Cooldown to play against the same opponent will be 10 minutes from when your game starts. So if you play a long game with someone it won't take long to find them again in the queues.
The December season reward will be given out as usual, and January-February-March reward will be given out when it ends on March 11th, 2025, which will include promos and C25 packs.
Coom Box Changes

We've been giving out more Coom Boxes with the introduction of the Battlepass. We still want Story Quests, XP, and Elemental Shards to be readily available. The top-end of Mythic Coom Boxes giving out as many Mythic Shards and Elemental Shards has been is too much.
As of now, there is little appeal to opening a Rare Coom Boxes, so we've made them stronger. The chance to get a pack has been increase from 1% to 5%. When you open a Rare you'll get 5 of that rare at once. Use them as you like: to play with, sell, or burn. They're also receiving a buff to the XP gains from them.
Mythic Coom Boxes will have the same distribution of Pack, Shards, Mythic Shards, Mythic/Diamond card... but with 5 Mythic Shards instead of 10, and 50 Elemental Shards instead of 100.
These changes will take effect March 11th, 2025 when Core Set 25 drops, so you can open your Mythic Coom Boxes before then or save up your boxes and open rare ones.
Common Box: Story Quest 20% (0% if full), Elemental Shard 30 % (50% if full), XP 20%, Common Card 30%
Rare Box: Elemental Shards 44%, XP 25%, 5x Rare cards 30%, Core 25 pack 1%
Mythic Box: 50 Elemental Shards 10%, Mythic card 45%, Diamond card 5%, 5x Mythic shards 20%, Core Set 25 pack 20%.
New Abilities
Cruelty - Destroy opponent's lowest health Champion.

Cruelty is a great ability to kill a huge Champion once you've picked off all of their smaller Champions. If multiple enemy Champions are tied for the lowest health the one that dies will be random.
Lightning Rod - Deal 5 damage to enemy Champion with the most power.

Lighting Rod puts a target on the opponent's biggest Champion, dealing it 5 damage. It's a good ability to play early, or later to take down a huge threat with additional work. Like Cruelty, if it's tied for enemy power it's chosen at random as it's not a targeted ability.
Conjure (X) - Add (X) random cards of this element to your hand.

Conjure pulls from every card of that element in Champions, even the ones that have promo copies. You get a card for free, but will that card be useful?
Leech (X) - At the end of your turn, the opponent loses X life and you gain X life.

Leech is a great way to gain life while pressuring your opponent's life total. The Leech Champions must be dealt with quickly or the life swings will get out of control.
Fruit Splash - On Death: Summon 2 Glowfruit.

Much like Shatter, the Fruit Splash ability generates two Champions when they die, giving you value once they deal with your threat. The Glowfruits are also prime targets for the Bless ability.
Rally - Give your Champions of this element +2/+2. When you play another Champion of this element, give it +2/+2.

The +2/+2 is permanent, unlike Otherworldly. Rally tells players to put a lot of the same element into their decks. Rally will focus Constructed decks as well as giving direction to draft players.
Energize - You Champions of this element deal +(X) damage to the opponent and their Champions. (default 1)

Energize buffs all of your Champions of that element (including itself) as well as their effects, like Wildfire, Inferno, Tsunami etc.
Nesting - When this dies, summon X 0/1 Eggs of this element. (default 1)

Nesting creates an egg of the element when it dies, making it difficult for opponents to attack them at once. If the egg is left unchecked it can summon any Champion of that element for only 1 mana while also drawing a card.
There are also "Mass" versions of existing abilities. The good ones affect just you, and the bad one's affect just your opponent. When in doubt read the reminder text to know which Champions they affect.
Mass Curse - All enemy Champions get -2/-2

Core Set 25 will shake up the metagame. Powerful cards, abilities and heroes for everyone to explore.
Are you ready, Champions?
